I think it may be easier for us Canadians to say Tidioute.
It's sort of like how we say out and about(oot and aboot).::sotb::

Yeah, this huge cocobolo whaler is a work of art for sure boggs. After oiling the joints,
it's a real smooth operator and fits great in the hand. Reminds me of a small machete.

Hey thanks for the info knife7knut. I often wonder what kind of hard life
a knife like this had before it gets a comfortable spot on the shelf...

Re: Ever seen one like this???

Phil, thanks for your input. I took a chance on this one off Epay. Until it arrives, I'm not sure about the inner workings. It's definitely not a pretty thing, but kind of interesting all the same. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/gallery/image.php?album_id=267&image_id=3795&...

Yes, those are definitely something special alright. I'm always on the lookout for

character flaws...

What's your take on bone or stag GEC's that have something different about them
like a natural scar, a bit of a mismatched scale, veiny lines, etc?
And why don't I ever see a used one for sale?

stranded on an island...

::hmm:: Not sure why it would happen, but if you could only keep one GEC knife from your collection, you would probably choose... Myself, I'd go with this #36 sunfish because even if the blades broke off, I could still use the darn thing as a hammer or even an oar for my raft ~ http://www.hollerin.c...

Re: GEC PROTOTYPE KNIVES

The GEC prototype I have happens to be the one and only hemlock green bone Tidioute sunfish produced in 2009. They've also switched to all steel after this particular knife. I really don't think about value, as I find it cool to just own a piece of GEC history. http://www.hollerin.com/images/hemloc...

If people don't want to share their valuable experience, that's entirely their own business.
For those of you who take the time to educate other folk, for whatever reason they need info, thank-you.
