Folding knife oil?

What is the best oil or lubricant to use on my folding knives? I collect mostly the big Case folders and use mineral oil. Thanks.

Help to Identify this Case Folder

A friend has this Case knife and is considering selling it. He has no idea of a model or worth. I really don't know anything about it, it does have the longtail C on the tang stamp so I'm thinking early 1900's maybe. Any information will be greatly appreciated! Jim

Case 5172 Bulldog knife, no XX stamping?

I have this Case 5172 Bulldog folder. I cannot find any XX stamping on the tang under CASE. Even with a jewelers loupe looking at the blade in different positions I still can't find anything. I know the bolster might hide some of it, but you should be at least be able to see something. What do you g...

Case 5172 Bulldog knife, no XX stamping?

I have what appears as an early Case 5172 folder. Did Case ever make this knife without the XX stamping on the tang? I cannot find any hint of it even looking at it at diferent blade positions with a jewelers loupe. Any information on this knife will be appreciated! Thanks! P1050336.JPG P1050338.JPG

KA-BAR Folding Hunter Question

Saw this KA-BAR folder on an auction site. If you look at the front handle it looks like the handle was modified, notched or lowered to accomadate the nail pull. Is this factory original? I don't believe I seen it before. Any information on it will be appreciated!

Lanyard hole on Old Ka-Bar Folding Hunter?

Saw this Ka-Bar on a site that is for sale. It looks to be stamped Ka-Bar and Reg. US Pat. under it. A search on this stamping makes it from 1925- 1931 manufacture. My question is did the older Ka-Bars like this one come with lanyard holes? The seller says it's original and never taken apart. What d...

Re: KRUG Knife ?

You're right, it is 12-87, thanks! There is some old rust spots and there is a small line off 1 to the left which made it look like a 72, you can't see it in the picture.

Old Case 5165 Folding Hunter Question

I have this Case long tail C 5165 folder from the 1920 to 1940 era. But there is no 5165 stamped on the rear tang. I'm pretty sure there was a time period when they weren't stamped. Does anyone know of this? Thanks! Jim

Re: Ka-bar single Blade Folding Hunter?

I asked the seller for another picture of the knife looking at it from the top. I'm still confused at the frame because it looks so slim, almost reminds of the slim line folding hunter that Western States produced at one time. Here's another picture of it. When I get the top view picture I'll post it.

Ka-bar single Blade Folding Hunter?

I saw this knife on Ebay and it appears as a Ka-bar single blade folding hunter. But it's frame appears much slimmer than a regular folding hunter. Anybody ever see one like this? Model number? Any information will be appreciated! Thanks!

I have what looks to be an old Ka-bar trapper. But the shield stamp looks like a Kabar stamp, but different. Anybody ever see this? Another thing is there are no tang stamps on either blade. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
