Re: #15 Sawyer Barlow & Huckleberry Boys Knife

Ryan ... that Lacewood custom is amazing, and the mirror-polished spear blade really enhances its appeal. Congrats on that one! I picked up a few from the recent run of Sawyers and I'm glad I was able to locate one in Soup Bone. I plan to rotate them all. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_fo...

Re: Anyone like opinel,

I added a No. 6 and a No. 8 Slim to complement my other three. I keep them organized in this Maxpedition pouch and I find it very handy.

In Celebration of our Nation's Independence!

With the 4th of July right around the corner ... I chose to start my celebration early by showing my true colors! I crafted three different sheath patterns to compliment the knives. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/gallery/image.php?album_id=268&image_id=6195 http://www.allaboutp...

Re: GEC Woodies

Barry .... that cocobolo toothpick took me off guard ... VERY NICE!!! ::tu:: ((I wasn't aware GEC produced any in the #12 (must be a short run??).)) I stitched up the pouch for my #12 snakewood mainly for pocket protection. If I EDC a GEC, I always use a pouch ... and with other brands not so often.

I'm with you Trand ...... Seeing everyone's display fueled my fire too! The woods do have a character all to themselves, and are a bit lighter in weight than the stag or bone. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/gallery/image.php?album_id=268&image_id=4638 http://www.allaboutpocketkn...

These came from GEC's first offering of Ben Hogans.

I've carried the Snake in the middle for quite a while and the blade has now developed a really dark patina.

HiPower ... as biglmbass said, you sure do have a fine display of Hogans! I took a liking to them too and have filled in with a few of my favorites as well. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/gallery/image.php?album_id=268&image_id=4636 They feel "just right" in the front...

This one in Garnet jigged bone is seeing the most pocket time lately.
I keep going back to the 65 for most chores. It seems to fill the bill for
just about every time I need to use a knife.

65 Ben Hogan

Here's one in Buffalo Horn that I stumbled on by chance. I didn't realize GEC was using these scales on the 65. Talk about a smooooth finish .... maybe a little too slippery for EDC but it'll get plenty of use indoors. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/gallery/image.php?album_id=268&am...

Hey Mike ... that pair of 72s have the best matched handles I've seen in the Elk. Can you discern any difference in the overall weight comparing the Elk to the bone handled 72s? I've been torn between the Ruby Red and the Elk Warnie ... and can only spring for one. These fellas are going so fast tha...

Monk ... very nice 72's ::tu::

And, as always, your stag collection is incredible!

Re: Beer Barrel

Trey, I purchased a Beer Barrel Trapper, Stockman and Canoe when they were first released. The "jigging" is not as deep or pronounced as what you'll see on a GEC jigged brazilian cherry or bubinga wood handle, but the Beer Barrel oak is very "grippy" and will not slip or shift li...

This pair arrived today.
These whittlers are easier to open than the congress version so they'll see more pocket time.
