Re: Tang stamp help
0078,
Sorry about that. Wlf is an old friend of mine & he knows I like Sheryl Crow (the quote on my sign off).
Wlf, Bret & I are doing well, but so busy of late, we hardly even get out to the gun shows.

Nashville and Smoky Mountain Knife Works.
Hello, Everyone. Bret and I are thinking about taking the kids & going on a road trip to Nashville and the Smoke Mountain Knife Works. I am wondering, while in Nashville, where should we stay? What would be good activities to do with a 16 yr old & a 13 year old? Any suggestions? Thanks, Kathy

Re: Need Help on a Silver Fruit Knife
I do believe that the crown denotes that it was made in Sheffield. http://www.925-1000.com/dlSheffield2.html#M I am not an expert for certain. The lion means that it is silver. It looks like the lady's head is a duty mark for Queen Victoria 1838-1890. J.E.B is John Edward Bingham's mark. Perhaps the...

Re: Holley, Yes or No?
Charlie, I would defer to you and Bret. You have been judging knives all your life. I highly respect your opinion. ::nod:: I think that is why I like knives that are dirty & show their age. They are easier to read. The shiny ones always get me. I know many people do not know Bret & I, but we...

Re: Holley, Yes or No?
I have been trying to look up something on this. In Levine IV, there are all brass "Boy's knives" on page 208. So... maybe it's possible? And on another note, Bret says "It's right as rain!" We got into a big knife fight about it & it's a good thing no one got cut!!! ...

Re: Holley, Yes or No?
It could be a later Holley, but I don't like it...
First, Holley shunned modernizing knife making when many companies were adopting it.
Secondly, Parker started doing some Holley repos in 1993.
I might be off base, but this is my opinion:
