This massive meteorite blade BOWIE is a one-of-a-kind, hard-to-find, individually designed custome knife.  The knife came from a small collection of meteorite knives made for a collector who found a large, natural piece of meteorite in the Arizona desert and had it crafted into knife blades.  The blade was made from a piece of meteorite utilizing the Wootz forging process which dates back to at least the 14th century.  The Wootz technique of forging reveals the dendritic structure of the meteorite(see pics).  This method is totally different from the modern pattern welded Damascus steel with its clean and orderly lines.  Additionally, the San Mai method of forging provides flexibility to prevent the blade from being too brittle.  The darker portions of the blade are natural carbon inclusions which add beauty and authenticity  of natural meteorite.  This latge knife is approximately 13 5/8" long with an approximately 8 5/8" long blade up to the nickel silver hilt.  The blade is a HUGH approximately 2 1/16" from top to bottom at its widest point.  The handle material appears to be bone antler.  The gorgeous, approximately 4 3/4" long handle has a carved bear-head on the butt end which adds to the mystique associated with meteorite blades(see pics).  Between the carved bear-head and the nickel silver guard, a woman native American in headdress is depicted on each side of the handle(see pics).  The blade was forged in the Tucson, Arizona desert by Ted DeGrazia and in my collection since the mid-1970's.  The knife has never been carried or used.  Buyer to pay $30.00 for postage, insurance, packaging, transportation and, Paypal's share of the shipping.  No international shipping.
