Buck 305 modified into a single blade

At 2-5/8" long, this 1993 Buck USA 305 is tiny, yet has lived a hard life. When I received it the knife had a lot of tarnish on the shield, liners, and bolsters, and the pen blade was broken. I ground it off to allow the knife to operate as a single-bladed knife, and polished the bolsters. The shield still has a little tarnish around the edges, as well as one spot on the back of the stainless Main blade. I stopped polishing when the plastic handles started to get too hot (see closeup photo). The main blade is full and has decent walk & talk, and does not look to have been sharpened outside of the factory, though it has some scratches on the back where someone tried to remove the tarnish spot on the blade.
