This is a vintage Connecticut manufactured hunter knife. This knife has a Clear stamp saying  CONN CUTLERY CO NAUGATUCK. It was made between 1867 thru 1885. The snap Is strong opening  and closing of the blade. Knife measures 5 1/4 inch closed length. Large spear blade with double nail nick for opening.This knife has steel bolsters ans liners. The handles are  nice burl  handles have a .flush fit crest shield. The handles have CVS scratched into the front scale. Since this knife was made during the civil war era letters might mean CONNECTICUT VALLEY SOLDERS. Knife has not been cleaned. This is a very rare find. Thanks for taking a look.
