ADDITIONAL INFO:      This pattern is not a traditional whittler pattern where the large blade rides on both springs and the secondary blades ride on individual springs or on a split spring. This is a stockman pattern whittler, very much like the well-known Camillus #72 pattern, the “Carpenters Whittler” as Camillus called it. It seems many companies made a Stockman type pattern that they called a whittler. Schrade made the 863 which is pretty much identical to this Imperial and I believe Western made a similar knife also. I have some in my collection that don’t seem to belong to any of those companies, just because it’s made a little bit differently. Regardless of the origin of the pattern it seemed to be popular with people who like to whittle for people who use their knives for detail work.
