ADDITIONAL INFO:      Circa 1981 Gerber introduce the LST series; Light, Smooth, Tough. They had several different handle materials; ivory micarta, black micarta, DuPont Rynite, and black, red & orange Zytel handles. The black handles are by far the most. I was managing the cutlery store in the 1980s and I believe that Gerber was the first company to use DuPont Zytel in knife handles. A few years after the LST was introduced Al Mar knives introduced the Air Weight series. Al of course was a former designer for Gerber. The Zytel material is very light and very tough and it does give the knife a nice walk and talk. Don’t let this one get away!
