DAMAGE: There is a lot of use and wear to this knife, but it still has lots of life left in it. There is a crack running from one side of the mark side handle to the other. It goes by the end of the shield and down to the rocker pin. A stabilized this crack with multiple coats of Zap-A-Gap CA adhesive. After that I carried this knife for about a month and did not have any problems with the crack.
BLADE WEAR: Estimate about 20%
MADE IN: USA
ADDITIONAL INFO: This is another knife I bought, repaired and carried myself. I don’t know great deal about Case knives but I do know the old ones had great carbon steel which is why bought this one. If I’m reading the case research section in AAPK properly this knife was probably be made between 1945 in 1964. I believe the shield is the one described as “oval shield with open C and tall S.” The shield when used at the latter part of the “Tested era” in the early part of the “XX era.” If I am interpreting this information correctly this knife probably dates to 1945 to 1950.
Having carried this knife I can tell you it’s a good solid knife with great steel and a welcome addition to my pocket. I hope whoever gets this knife enjoys it is much as I have.
