One more from my Christmas Tree personal collection. This is a KA-BAR 2-Blade Shadow Pen Knife commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the United States in 1926. The knife has an unused and unsharpened carbon steel long spear point blade with a common nail pull. There are several clusters of light pitting on the front face from about the mid-point of the nail pull up to the blade tip. The rear face gas just a bit of light staining scattered up the blade. Stamped on the front tang is KA-BAR. On the other end of the frame is an unused and unsharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. Both faces gave scattered light micro-pitting. Stamped on the front tang is UNION CUT CO (over) OLEAN N.Y. (over) U.S.A. Both blades have good to excellent open and close snap. The scales are a great looking set of red, gold and black glitter Christmas Tree celluloid. They’re in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. It has a Brass border that runs along the edges of scales. There is a large Brass badge on the front scale. It has both the Liberty Bell and Constitution or Liberty Hall and also has SESQUI (over) CENTENNIAL and 1776-1926. There are three (3) brass pins in each scale. The knife has a single steel back spring with no cracks or breaks It continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This vintage KA-BAR Sesquicentennial knives are getting kind of hard to find anymore. Took me a long while to finally nab this one. The knife is 3 3/16” in length and made c.1926.
