This is a Vintage or Antique Unused and Unsharpened **VERY RARE** **MINT CONDITION** German Made Friedrich Herder Abr Sohn 1-Blade Swayback Barehead Jack Folding Pocket Knife “Salesman’s Sample” that Was a Part of the F. Herder Collection Acquired by SMKW in 1993(Certificate of Authenticity from SMKW Included) and has an Unused and Unsharpened Carbon Steel Wharncliffe Blade with a Common Nail Pull and with its Original Factory Mirror Polish and it’s Original Factory Edge and the Salesman Code Still Partially Visible on the Front Face, an Excellent Plus Set of Black and Gray Buffalo Horn Scales in Perfect Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Four Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Fluted Bolsters, Nickel Silver Liners, a Single Brightly Polished Steel Back Springs with No Cracks or Breaks, 3 5/8” in Length, Made in Solingen, Germany at the F Herder Abr Sohn Factory Between c.1613-1993.
This is a Very Rare Mint Condition Friedrich Herder Abr Sohn 1-blade Swayback Jack. This knife, as well as many others, came from what is known as the F Herder Factory Collection that was acquired 27 years ago by SMKW. This beautiful rare Salesman’s Sample knife came from that collection. It has a single unused and unsharpened carbon steel Wharncliffe blade. It still has its original factory mirror polish and its original factory edge. It still has the original salesman’s code printed in black on the front face of the blade. Stamped on the front tang is two crossed keys (over) F HERDER A. SN (over) SOLINGEN. The blade still has hard and loud open and close snap and a hard snap on the half-stop. The knife has a gorgeous set of black and gray genuine buffalo horn scales that are in perfect condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are four nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished nickel silver fluted bolsters with no dents or dings. The knife has nickel silver liners that have a few light dings but nothing serious. The knife has a single brightly polished steel back spring with no cracks or breaks. It still continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform providing the great snap on the blade. This outstanding RARE MINT CONDITION Vintage Salesman’s Sample Friedrich Herder Abr Sohn 1-Blade Barehead Jack Folding Pocket Knife is 3 5/8” in length. Made in their Solingen, Germany between c.1623-1993. Realistically we know this knife was most likely made sometime in the 20th century. Serious offers only please.
