Judson Cutlery Co. New York Boy Scout knife
Here's an oldie but a goodie. This vintage scout knife is stamped Judson Cutlery Co. New York. According to Goin's Encyclopedia Of Cutlery Markings, this tang stamp is thought to have been used from 1890-1910. I suspect it may have been used a bit later than that because the Boy Scouts Of America was founded in 1910 and I doubt Judson produced a Boy Scout knife for American distribution in the same year the scouts were founded. At any rate, this is an old knife, likely more than a century old at this time. Main spear blade shows wear but all blades/implements open and close with good snap and no blade play. The gorgeous jigged and wormgooved bone handles are crack free but there is a small chip missing where the lip of the can opener blade rests. Overall I'd judge it to be in very good vintage condition.
