This is an uncommon Continental Cutlery Co. 2-Blade Sleeveboard Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a used and sharpened carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a common nail pull. The front face has scratches from use and some scattered very light pitting with two small light clusters. The rear face has scratches from use and just a few tiny micro-pits. Stamped on the front tang is CONTINENTAL (in a full arch)(over) CUTLERY CO. and with N.Y. under and inside the arch. The knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. Both faces have scratches from use and sharpening and some scattered light pits. Both blades still have excellent and hard open and close snap. The scales are a yellow celluloid. They’re in excellent shape with no cracks, splits or missing chips. It does have some light scratches. There are three nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The liners are brightly polished brass. The knife has a single steel back spring with just some very light scattered pits but more importantly it has no cracks or breaks and it continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This nice little hard to find Continental Cutlery Co Sleeveboard shadow pen is in good shape at 100+ years old. And whomever last sharpened the blades was good because that spear blade is sharp. The knife is 3 5/16” in length and made between c.1915-1920. Additional photos or information on request.
