Custom-handmade, USA maker, “1800’s Riverboat Gambler” with sheath
I sometimes fancy knives from early American pioneer expansion, certainly after 1820. This would be my interpretation of a knife a well dressed person would carry for defense or threat when needed. The steel is W2 high carbon from NJSB, forged, drawn, quenched and tempered to 60 Rockwell. The blade length is 4.25” long, 3.7mm thick with distal taper. Finish is hand sanded to 2000 grit, (not buffed/polished). The 8 nickel silver pins are domed and secure the composition black scales to a tapered tang. Front guard is nickel silver with 2 fine pin lines. The overall length is 9”. The sheath is also hand made of veg tanned 6 oz. leather is a flat pancake shape to be worn on a belt, inside jacket or vest or in a shoulder harness. Please ask me any quantities to have.
