Vintage Ithaca Gun Track Knife custom hunting caping knife
I've kind of did some digging on the Ithaca gun track knives and think they were made circa 1970's by Ray Schmidt of Whitefish Montana, and distributed for time by the Ithaca Gun Company. This is a 7" knife with about a 2 3/4" blade and is called a caping knife. There is another version of this that has jimping on the back of the blade for gripping. These knives are scrace. This knife is made from a solid piece of metal. The only marking on it is the bear print. The sheath is also not marked but looks hand made and fit well for the knife. Here is a link of a caping knife that recently sold. You can copy & paste this URL in your browser for addditional information. This knife sold for $281.00
