ADDITIONAL INFO: The Parker Challenger series was sold in the 1980s and I even purchased a Challenger II that I have to this day, it is by far my favorite Parker knife. This was the largest knife in this series the Challenger III and is 4-7/8” when closed. It is made with Japanese surgical steel, or so the blade states. I found mine to be a decent quality knife with steel that was easy to resharpen and held an edge fairly well. I actually bought my knife to use as a box cutter when I was often on boxing freight for three retail stores. It got a lot of use and it got a lot of sharpening. It was not an expensive knife so I was quite pleased with his performance and the serviceability of the blade. Here is your opportunity to replace one you used to have or to try one for the first time. Aside from whatever collectibility this knife may or may not have, I think it would make a great knife for the glove box of a truck/car, for a toolbox or a tackle box or any other place you might need a decent knife from time to time.
