ADDITIONAL INFO: The Henckels Twin Cuisine knives are forged from a single piece of steel and have a forged bolster and a horizontal tang with the butt cap also forged from the same piece of steel. The handles are attached without rivets. It’s a revolutionary new design that puts the majority of the weight in the handle and not the blade. The blades are treated with the Friodur® technique and have been ice-hardened to improve their quality. They are hardened to 56-58 HRC.
The rivet less construction of the handles are so secure the manufacturer says they are unaffected by washing the dishwasher, however they do caution that the spray can cause blades to bang into one another dulling and dinging the knives and they repeated exposure to some of the harsh soaps can result in staining and pitting of the knives. Personally, I never recommend anyone wash their kitchen knives in the dishwasher! These knives are a discontinued style and are very high quality knives.
