Great / Remmington / Model R2403 / Folding Hunter
Here's a very desirable knife for the vintage automatic enthusiast. This Remmington, Model 2403 is a bit of a scarcity. Having been manufactured by Presto, on contract, for Remmington in the 30's, there were probably 1000 Prestos made for each Remmington of the same model. That being said, this is not a perfect knife, merely a rare one. The knife measures 5" closed and just shy of 8-1/2" open with beautiful jigged bone handles that sport a hairline crack through the button/ safety and one on the but end, as pictured. Otherwise theyre very solid. The blade is short but fairly full and has been nicely cleaned. The blade flies hard and seats deep but has sloppy lockup when opened. A few spots of pitting remain on the steel bolsters and tang,as well one speck on rear of blade. Not a perfect knife but a desirable one that you'll be proud to own. A mint knife would command sell over $1000. Priced accordingly.
