ADDITIONAL INFO: The SG8 appears in the Schrade catalogs from 1995 to 1998. This is a nice heavy-duty knife. The textured thermoplastic handle if the user a good grip even with wet hands. It has a special pivot assembly which features, “Synergistic Surface Enhancement.” That makes this knife open very smoothly and the Synergistic Surface Enhancement means that the pivot for this knife is permanently lubricated. I believe that’s the reason this knife open so smoothly. I don’t have a sheath for this knife but I have dropped the price down to reflect that. The last retail price listed for this knife was $49.95. Please be sure to look at the pictures, especially the last one which is the Schrade informational flyer on the SG knife series.
