MARBLES IDEAL-BUFFALO HORN CIRCA 1939 BLADE W/ SHEATH - 3 LINE ROLLER COASTER STAMP-SUPER RARE !!!
I have a very rare and special knife for ya here folk's...this knife was made in the early 1990's... when the Lauermans bought Marble's in 1994, they used old blades stored at the Gladstone factory to make short runs of some of Marble's famous patterns...This Ideal is one such blade and has the stampings on it to confirm this...I am tickled just plum up to be able to offer this Ideal for someones collection !!!
Folk's, the Marble's Ideal was the 1st knife in the Marble's lineup...1899 was its birthday, and by 1915 this knife had taken America by storm !!! Explorers from Teddy Roosevelt to Peary & Byrd who were the 1st to reach the north & south poles carried Ideals...Charles Lindbergh had one in the cockpit of the 1st solo Trans-Atlantic flight, now on display in the Smithsonian !!!
By the end of its 3rd decade of production(1930) Marble's had become the world's most famous maker of outing equipment...From pole to pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the standard by which all other hunting knives were measured !!!

Blade has the massive fuller in it thats makes the Ideal instantly reconized
Blade is stamped: Marble's Gladstone, Mich. U.S.A. with the 3 line Roller Coaster stamp on front side...that stamp was used from 1931-1957...off side is stamped: Circa 1939 Blade
Handle is Genuine Buffalo Horn with the famous Marble's spacer system...horn is shiney and free of any imperfections...from my expierence over the years, you just do not see many Marble knives with buffalo horn handles, yet alone made with this Vintage blade !!!
Pommel is also genuine Buffalo Horn and completes this slick black beauty !!!
Comes with Original Marble's stamped spear point leather sheath of exceptional quality...keeper strap button is also stamped Marble's...spear point sheath is also a throwback as they were discontinued around WW 2 from the Marble's line
