ADDITIONAL INFO:      This is an interesting knife. Obviously the designer had the Opinel in mind when he/she designed this knife. It is as if someone made in Opinel with several upgrades: better blade steel, waterproof and nearly indestructible handle with no slip grip knurled stainless steel ferrule for a good grip and a waterproof handle that doesn’t swell like the wooden Opinel handles do. This is Opinel 2.0 and it was made circa 1992 or 1993. I do have an old 1993 Kershaw catalog and the Le Compagnon is in the 1993 catalog. I don’t think this pattern was made for more than a couple of years so don’t miss this opportunity to add this unique piece to your Kershaw collection.
