Genuine Sambar stag handles slabs; 2 7/8” x 3/4” (measurements approximate).

When I measured these I tried to err on the side of caution. The slab may be slightly larger than the dimensions given but should not be smaller although there might be an exception to that just given human error, but it should not be significant.

Some of these slabs, especially those highly figured with lots of popcorn, may still have remnants of the velvet on the antler. I found a good way to remove those is by using a couple of dental picks. This set still has some velvet remaining in the crevices.

Hint: If you are new to working with stag I always tried to buy my stag handles at least 1/8” longer than I actually need and 1/8 inch wider than I actually need because you may find humps or dips in the stag that wouldn’t match well to the bolsters or to pin placement in the handle.
