Case XX #9333 Stockman
LENGTH (Closed): 2-5/8”
BOLSTERS: Nickel silver
BLADES: Clip, sheepfoot & pen blade.
LINERS: Nickel silver
TANG STAMPS: CASE XX/U.S.A.
CONDITION: Very good
DAMAGE: Pitting to surface of blades, normal for carbon steel this old. The pocket appears to have been intentionally widened at one point in order to accommodate the pen blade. I’m no expert on case but I don’t think the pen blade would fit without the swelling of the pile side liner.
BLADE WEAR: Less than 10% approximately
MADE IN: U.S.A.
ADDITIONAL INFO: I don’t know a lot about Case knives, but according to the research section on AAPK this knife was made between 1965 in 1969. The blades have good snap and no wobble. They walk and talk nicely far better than most knives of this small size. The only thing that is odd to me about this knife is the way in which the pocket on the lower pile side bows outward. After looking at it carefully I am convinced that it was done intentionally at the factory because there would not be enough room for the pen blade if that liner did not bow outward. The blades open and closed very nicely with no rub. It is a well-made and tight 50-year-old knife.
