Gerber Shorty with Armorhide Handle
MAKER: Gerber Legendary Blades
PATTERN: Shorty
OAL: 9-1/2”
BLADE LENGTH: 4-1/2”
GUARD: Integral
HANDLE: Lamb styled handle with Armorhide finish
HANDLE STAMP: GERBER SHORTY
SHEATH: Original Gerber sheath
CONDITION: Near Mint
DAMAGE: The only damage I see to this knife is some missing Armorhide at the base of the blade. It appears perhaps someone struck a hone steel while touching up the edge.
BLADE WEAR: Negligible, I would say less than 2%. The blade has been sharpened but is full.
SHEATH MARKINGS: GERBER/Portland, ORE./97223 U.S.A./SHORTY
AGE: The Lamb styled handle with the Armorhide finish was made from approximately 1972 to 1989.
MADE IN: Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.
ADDITIONAL INFO: This Gerber’s Shorty is in outstanding condition and aside from some rub marks on the sheath it is in outstanding condition also. Check the last picture and it will show four small chips in the Armorhide finish at the base of the blade. That is the only damage I have seen to the handle finish. The sheath has very minor’s stains and scrapes and minor rub marks where it rubs against the handle. All in all this is the nicest Armorhide Shorty and sheath I have seen since I sold new ones in the cutlery store in the 1980s. The blade has been sharpened but I doubt that blade loss would even be 1% of the blade. An excellent addition to any Gerber collection or to anyone’s hunting kit!
