Below is a list of shields that have been used on Case knives. There are several that are not included here because I don't have images of some. If you have a case knife with a shield that is not here, please send me a picture... bryan@allaboutpocketknives.com
Shields were pinned on bone and stag handled Case knives until the late 1970's at which point the company started gluing them on.
Plain Oval shield. Used on knives manufactured from 1905 - 1915.
Plain oval shield with pointed ends. Used by Case between 1905 and 1915.
Arrow Head shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925.
Diamond shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925.
Bomb Shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925.
Bowtie Shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925.
Oval shield with closed C and block letters. Used on tested era knives (1920 - 1940). Case switched to an open C writing design in the late tested years.
Oval shield with open C and tall S. Used on late tested era and early XX era knives.
Oval shield with open C and block S. Used on late xx era knives through to the mid 1980s.
Oval shield with raised letters and rim. Used on knives manufactured in the late 1980s.
This arrow shield was used on some late 1990 knives. I have seen it on some three and five bladed peanuts (big nuts) and trappers (beasts).
