Item # 81 Embellished Moki 920 SOLD

Moki make the finest production lockbacks in the world. The only makers I have come across that makes a lockback as good as this is Ray Cover. This is their model 900 that was make in the early 1990s. It had white handle scales for scrimshaw work. I re-shaped the handle to make it more hand friendly and remove all sharp corners. Scales are tinted Yew, the bolsters engraved to mimic the pattern in the wood and the shield is one of what I call my "splat" shields in solid stainless....quite unique.

Item # 80 Heavily embellished AG Russell SOLD

I have always liked the idea behind this design, but disliked the shape of the handle. As I have always found these knives a pain to close, I decided to make it a slip-joint. It has resulted in a slippie that "locks" open with authority and I really like it. High end French Lagouile style pocketknives use a similar semi-locking stud on the backspring - a tried and tested design that has stood the test of time. Handle is stabilised and very durable wood laminate that is cut at an angle so that the various layers show up like stripes.
