Greetings from Australia and glad to meet you.  My name is "oupa" Dirk Potgieter. I embellish/personalise/customize knives, because I like to and not for a living.  I have built/refurbished hundreds of knives and I work on them one at a time as I believe that every item that I work on is unique and deserves my undivided attention.  I like to consult with the owner about his knife and then do my best to enhance the character of the piece.  No job is too small and if the work is not within my capability, I will say so up front.  I am of the opinion that many old and/or used knives can be a given a new or extended lifespan.  All the knives that I have worked on will carry my maker’s mark that looks like this:
