This listing is for one slab of Poly-Burl, #A5. Poly-Burl is a synthetic material made of polyester resin and a few secret ingredients to make it easy to work and finish. It is workable with normal woodworking tools. It is very similar in working characteristics to stabilized or plasticized wood blanks.
This slab measures 4" wide x 5" long x 3/8" thick (+/- 1/8"). It is a mixture of different shades of blue pearls,lightly accented with gold pearl. The pics don't show the true beauty of this piece. Because of the shine of the piece, it is very difficult to photograph. If you are not happy with it, I have a no questions return policy.

You can cut, drill or shape it just like any other blanks and when it is time to finish the scales, this is how I do it:
1. Sand to the finest grit you have available. (I stop at 600)
2. Machine buff- first with rouge, then with white diamond compound. If you don't have a buffer, you could use a buff attached to a drill.
3. Hand buff with a plastic polish like Novus, or any fine microcrystaline wax like Ren Wax.
That's all it takes to make it shine like glass! There is no need for expensive, smelly, time consuming, chemical or oil finishes!
