Folk's, I am pleased yet very saddened too offer this knife for sale

The man's signature on the blade, "Fred Trost" died last year of a rare illness way before his time. Fred was the host for many years of the Practical Sportsman/Michigan Outdoors TV show on Public Television in the state of Michigan. He was witty, funny, yet brought so much practical information to the sports men & women in the state of Michigan. He fought goverment agencies statewide to give Michigan residents the right to bear arms and use those firearms in the field. If you watched his weekly show, you knew where the pearch & walleye were biting, where the biggest bucks were being seen, where the best small game hunting was going on etc. on his up to the minute guide report. He was a fighter supreme for the "Joe Lunchbucket" type sportsman & women. Fred, we miss ya !!!

The knife is the Marbles Dall Deweese pattern. It was designed in 1907 by famed Canon City, Colorado big game hunter Dall DeWeese. He often hunted with president Teddy Roosevelt and all over the world

Webster Marble produced this knife in his Gladstone, Michigan factory from 1907-1931. The old Dall DeWeese knives are very sought after, and can cost ya over a 1000 bucks

Mike Stewart then replicated this pattern in 1999 while head of the Marbles Knife Division as a fundraiser for Fred's TV show

The knife is 7 1/2" OAL with a 3 1/2" blade. Blade steel is the old 52/100 high carbon steel that will flat out take on a scary edge. It has a blade etch of a buck deer logo on it and Fred's signature. It also is etched Dall DeWeese - original 1902-1907 pattern. Marbles made 1000 with Freds signature on them, and 425 without his signature. This one is # 0049

Blade is stamped : Marbles, Gladstone, Mi. USA

This knife is full tanged exposed construction, handles are beautiful CoCoBolo Wood, held on with the old 4 pinned construction. Just a great hunting knife design on this piece folk's

Comes to ya mint with a tube type leather sheath with the Marbles logo stamped in it, in the old Marbles Bobcat box

Not only does this knife pay tribute to a special fella folk's, its very well made the old Marbles way, with superior steel, and with its special hunting design, it would make a great hunting knife to use then pass of to the next generation of hunters in your family
