This is an outatanding old jack knife that measures just over 3 1/4 inches long. It has pick bone or possibly we could call them peachseed bone handles. There is a tight and stable hairline at the lower pin on the back side. It is hardly visible without a loupe. This is what I like to call a knife with 'character'. It has been used and it has been sharpened. It has not been abused and has the hardest snap I have encountered in a long while. It also has strong half stops. The tangs of both blades are stamped STACY and the back sides are both stamped No 4 (over) NEWGATE (over) ST. I am told that this is a street in London. Since there is no country of origin stamped on the blades, I believe this knife pre-dates the tariff of 1890.
This is a knife with character! It can be yours for $100 and I pay for Priority mailing in the USA.
