One of "my Ladies" it is a Scrimshawed Mermaid sunning on the rocks outside her cave.It is scrimshawed on a chunk of Mammoth Ivory, The base is a piece of Old growth American Black Walnut that grew on a documented Civil war campsite of General Tecumpsa Sherman On his "March to the sea" during the Civil war. It has spent many a year seasoning on the Property. The Ivory sits in a cutout in the wood and can be removed if desired. This is one of "my Ladies" it is a Scrimshawed Mermaid Jumping with a Porpoise beside her in a choppy sea.It is scrimshawed on an Ivory tusk from an African Wild Boar, the Base is a piece of Old growth American Black Walnut that grew on a documented Civil war campsite of General Tecumpsa Sherman On his "March to the sea" during the Civil war. It has spent many a year seasoning on the Property. The tusk is neseled in a cut out in the wood and can be removed from the base and will sit properly on its own for display without the base.
