Mike Stewart actually had a design hatched up when owner of Black Jack knives called the handy, he then made these while bossman of knives during his tenure at Marble's....you got to understand folk's, these were made in very limited quanity's...and the Full Stag patterns such as this one, even less...search em up on the net and see how many like this you find !!!

Folk's, I have a really unique knife that Marbles made app. 11-13 years ago for ya....

This is the Marbles Cowboy knife. This knife was created by Marbles as an historical replica of some of the old west pattern knives of the 1800's. It is used in Cowboy shooting circles where they dress the peroid & compete in Cowboy action shooting compititions. Also used in alot of old west re-enactments. Very, very, unique design, coffin handle, like the old western bowies and kinda on the scarce side.

I have this knife in Stag handles,,,it was a Marble Plus knife club issue...I just had to get it in the field... Deer season was coming up so up north it went with me...Wow !!! what a surprise !!! Makes no matter if you are opening up a a deer, elk, etc. with the double hilt you would not believe how responsive this knife is !!! Guttin inside or opening up the cavity, or skinning the hide off, this knife is extremly well balanced and extremly user friendly !!! In my opinion, this knife for practical field use is the most underated Marble's knife they ever made, sales pitch be darned, just fact, a real sleeper here folk's !!!

This is the Marbles Cowboy knife

Knife is 9" OAL

Blade is 4 1/4" in length

Blade is stamped : Marbles, with their Banner stamp, high carbon vanadium steel, brushed finish

Blade is patterned like the Plainsman, it is straight spinned and in-line with the handle...the cutting edge itself is a slow continuous curve from the hilt to the point, making surgical type cuts possible with this design !!!!

Handles are huge Natural Smooth Bone,,, The Bone slabs are just really neat, you do not see such huge chunks of flawless Bone like these very often,  just wonderfull color streaked thru them,, handle is shaped in the Old West Coffin shape, a very popular design back in the day... Labor intensive & flawless. Held on with the old Marbles 4 pin construction

Knife was made in Gladstone, Mich. USA at the old Marbles factory

Big Double Brass Hilt / Guard seperating handle and blade....very nice

Comes with deep oil tanned Original Marbles Cowboy sheath

Knife is New in Box condition***Please note*** there is a fine small surface seasoning line in the back handle, no big deal just letting you know of it

Knife & Sheath come in Original issue Marble's box with proper sticker on the end

Larger Pictures / More Details

I have a really historical 2 knife set for ya here folk's... its the Marble's Model #58 Outdoors 2 knife set....these knives were made from Vintage blades found at the old Gladstone factory when the Lauermans bought Marble's and hired Mike Stewart to run their knife division back in 1997....when these 2 guys were running Marble's, I still marvel today with some of the knives that they produced up in Gladstone !!! These knives have the 3 line Roller Coaster stamp on em....these particticular knives are steeped in Marble history...they came out in 1929 with the intent to provide sportsman with a cheaper knife to purchase during the Great Depression !!! They were produced from 1929 to 1941...so you are looking at over 80 year old blades !!! They are made with walnut handles...The Outdoor knives were the very 1st knives that Marble's made that were not traditional forged blades and the "Only" ones that were approved by W.L. Marble !!!  These 2 knives played a pivitol role in staving off bankruptcy during the depression for the Marble's Corp.

This is the Model # 58 Outdoors 2 knife set

Knives are 8 1/2" OAL

Blades are 4 1/2"

Handles are American Walnut

1 knife has a rounded pommel end & the other handle comes to a point

Blades are 80 plus year old Vintage Marble's blades

Knife blades are re-finished and mint with a few tiny spots that did not clean up in the re-grind

This 2 knife Vintage blade set comes to you in the Original Bobcat box with the proper markings (sticker) on the end of the box

Item # 60186 - MARBLE'S 1999 STACKED LEATHER 7" TRAILMAKER WITH SHEATH-UNUSED-SUPER SCARCE BIG BLADE KNIFE-SWEET !!
5_60186_1478129775_1.jpg
Larger Pictures / More Details

Folk's, what a knife I have for ya all here...its the seldom seen 1999 7 inch Marble's Trailmaker with a stacked leather handle !!! These are incredible made knives folk's, Mike Stewart & Craig Lauerman spared NO expense in the construction of this knife...my opinion, I would put this knife up against any other knife of equal size and more expensive cost, it will hang tough right there with em !!!

The blades are laser cut from solid bars of 5160 modified carbon steel, and are subjected to a complicated multi step process for hardness and temper....this super costly process removes all brittleness in the steel and gaurantees a super "edge holding" ability and also produces superior strength within the blade !!! These proceses are critical in the edge holding ability, as well as being able to tolerate side pressure strength in very tough chopping chores !!! Like I said folk's, this knife will hold its own with just about ny other knife on the market !!!

This is the Marble's 7" stacked Leather Trailmaker

Knife was made in 1999 per spacer arrangement

Knife is 12 1/4" OAL

Blade is 7 1/4"

Blade is stamped: Marble's Gladstone Mi. U.S.A. with the full Marble's address

Blade is .250 thick and 57-59 Rockwell C on the hardness scale

Handle is Stacked Leather

Pommel is aircraft aluminum

Comes with the Original issue Marble's western style loop sheath which is just a stunner in itself

Knife is New condition, never carried, used, just stored in sheath per 1st owner

Sheath has a small rub mark where knife enters the throat, and a tiny oil stain on the back, nothing terrible, but just letting you know all stats

Please supersize pics on the next page for a close-up look at this very scarce brute of a knife !!!

Folk's, when Jim & Craig Lauerman bought Marble's in 1994, they dedicated  themselves to bring the company back to its former glory. Well in my opinion,  they did just that. Webster Marble would surely be proud of this Father - Son team !!! From 1997 to 2002, Marble's churned out some of their best fixed blade knives in their 112 yr history !

With Mike Stewart heading their knife division, they got one of the most respected knife guys in the state... they re-created old classics & came out with custom knives like the one below !!! The Buffalo Horn handle topped off with a Stag pommel is just gorgeous !!! This is also a Woodcraft, proably the most copied fixed blade knife pattern in history, once its 1916 patent ran out in the early 1930's, Case, Ka-Bar, German cutlers, etc. all made a Woddy look-a -like after Webster's patent expired !!! The Bonus, it bears the Marble's address on the stamp & being a lifelong Michigan resident & Marble's collector, that's the iceing on the cake !!!

This is the Marble's Buffalo Horn/ Stag Custom Woodcraft

Knife is 9" OAL with a 4 3/4" blade

Knife is stamped: Marble's Gladstone, Mi. U.S.A.

Blade is 52/100B high carbon ball bearing steel. This type steel dominated the ABS sponsored World Cutting Championships !!! The blade is .216 thousands thick folk's. Measure up your Case 523-5's or Kodiaks and you will come up with allmost half that !!!

Sorry, No box with this knife

Item # 59637 - MARBLE'S GUTA PERCHA-SAFE GRIP IDEAL-BOBCAT BOX-1997-2001 SHEATH & BOX-AN AMERICAN ICON-NICE !!!
5_59637_1475127560_1.jpg
Larger Pictures / More Details

Folk's,,,I got an Ideal here that is made almost identical to Webster's 1st model knife he invented in 1898 !!! Super scarce to find an Ideal in Bobcat box, flap over leather sheath, as these 2 items were only used 1998-2001, and this knife has the old Rubber or Gutta Percha handle material, 1st used at Marble's 118 years ago !!! This one has the Banner 2002 stamp on it, so made late 2001-2002

Folk's, the Ideal Hunting knife was Webster Marble's 1st attempt at knife making, and as it turned out, his most successful. Introduced to the world in 1899, W L Marble had this to say about his design : This knife is the Ideal cross between a sticking and skinning knife.... hand made, hand tested. There is about as much difference between our Ideal Hunting knives and any other knife... as there is between a porcupine & a grizzly bear !!!

This is Marble's 1st knife pattern. Prototyped in 1899 in the 1st versions, and by 1901, this Marble's Ideal pattern took America by storm !!! It was in the cockpit on the 1st trans-atlantic flight, now on display in the Smithsonian Institution !!! it was carried by explorers worldwide on expeditions to every corner of the world, including Peary & Byrds north & south pole expeditions, Teddy Roosevelt was a big Marble's customer... By the end of its 3rd decade of production, (1930) from Pole To Pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the hunting knife that by which all others were measured !!!

Folk's, look around the web and knife shows you attend, there is just not that many new Ideal's for sale...alot of old vintage ones, but very few of the newer 1998-2006 rebirth era after the Lauermans purchase of the company,,, the reason I heard was that it was to expensive to machine the big fuller in the knife blade, costing 20 bucks a knife on the larger Ideal blades and with the cutting tool having to be replaced often... they were not made in large run quantaties at all !!!

Knife was made in late 2001 or early 2002 in Gladstone, Michigan, U.S.A. at the old Marble's factory

Knife is 8 3/4" OAL

Blade is 4 1/4"

Knife has a hilt / guard shaped right into the handle

Handle is Gutta Percha (Rubber) now called safe grip by Marble's

Blade is brushed finish high carbon vanadium steel or 52/100 steel, i do not know which... Ideals are 1st recognized by the Huge Fuller on each side.

Also has the Original Marble's deep oil tanned  big Flap Over leather sheath with internal cut guard, nice feature so you do not slice your sheath taking it in and out...I believe the sheath has room for a fire starting rod and a stone to boot, all ya need in one package !!!

Knife is new condition, never carried, sharpened or used...

Whole package comes in the Marble's Bobcat box

This is a Marble's Custom knife folk's, stamped, not acid etch stamped, made in 1997-1998...it has several different traits with the Leather / Stag combo, No grooves on backspine like alot of Woodys, and the measurements are 1/16 too 1/4 inch larger than a older Woody...a true Custom, alot of these very short runs were done when Mike Stewart was just starting to run the company....I beleive to jumpstart so to speak their sales and intrest after a 25 year absense in the cutlery business

This is the Marble's Custom Leather/Stag/Leather Woodcraft

Knife is 9" OAL with a 4 3/4" blade & aluminum pommel

Folk's, I have seen Bob Loveless drop point hunters app. the same size as this knife sell for upwards of $10.000 bucks !!! I truely believe with the Loveless approved Marble's knives that were made back 15-16 yrs ago are a great bet for the collector, tho I myself would have a very tough time not getting this knife right into the field if I was in the market for a great hunting knife to carry !!!  Seeing this knife has "No Box" and has some lite scratches...I am reducing my normal price on these hopeing it goes right out in the field for use when purchased !!!

The Plainsman is a radical departure from all other Marble's blade patterns folk's... The blade is straight spined and in-line with the handle...the cutting edge is a subtle continuos curve from the hilt to the point...field chores can be accomplished with surgeon like precision !!!

Blade is stamped : Marbles USA...it is 1095 high carbon steel, with a coated Matte finish to prevent staining while doing your field chores, very handy as is the safe grip handle when your hands are all boogered up from guttin & skinnin !!!

These were made just before goin out of busniess with what was left of the USA produced blades

Handle is synthetic "Safe Grip" rubber, very much like the old Gutta Percha material that Marble's used 115 years ago !!! It also has another very unique character, it has the ancient old "Fox & Hound" scene that was used on Marble's 1st knives in 1898 such as their Safety Folders, very cool !!! Also has a lanyard hole in end of handle

Whole package comes in Original Marble's box, the last box that was used from around 2006-2009 before they closed, with original Marble's sheath of thick cordura that also has the internal cut guard to prevent slicing your sheath taking the knife in and out

Knife & sheath are New in Box condition, never carried or used !!!

This would be a nice low budget knife so you do not booger up a collectible piece, but still with good high carbon 1095 steel......or one for the young Lad or Lass that was just starting out their hunting career

Marble's collectors note: this Sport comes with Stacked Leather scales...Marble's was the very 1st knife company in the U.S.A. to bring the stacked leather washer system into widespread use !!!, and it comes in the Original Marble's Bobcat box with the big Flap Over leather sheath...these 2 items were only used during the 1998-2001 peroid at Marble's

This pattern Marble's knife came too pass in 1999, when Mike Stewart, Jim & Craig Lauerman, and the late great Bob LoveLess set down to make a new pattern Marble's hunting knife,,, its blade being based on the world famous R.W. LoveLess designed drop point hunter... Marble's collaborated with Bob LoveLess on their Sport 99's and their Trailmaker knives in 1999-2001... This is one of my favorite Marbles hunting knives. This is the Marbles Sport... A similar Marble's knife pattern called the Sport 1st came out about 1930, as a smaller version of the Expert. In the 1930's, this knife was the Offical knife of the Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of America. Its a great drop point hunter, and some of the oldtimer's I have talked to here in Michigan use to call this pattern a Willow Leaf...any of you out there that are "Drop Point" fans, will love this knife !!!

This is the Marble's Sport Drop Point Hunter

Knife is 8" OAL

Blade is 3 5/8"

Blade is stamped: Marble's, with their Banner stamp, is high carbon, brushed finish...made in early 2002,,possibly late 2001, as they were still using the Bobcat box and the flap over sheath from the 1998-2001 era

Scales are Genuine Stacked Leather...Marble's has been using them since 1898 !!!

Pommel is aircraft alumnium

Comes with original Marble's deep oil tanned "Flap Over" leather sheath, with internal cut guard too prevent sliceing your sheaths while taking the knife in and out...very nice design feature, and...it leaves you enough room to put a fire starter rod, and maybe a thin sharpening stone so you have all your survival items in one spot !!!

Condition: Knife is new in the Original Marble's Bobcat box with the proper sticker on the end,, it has never been used or carried, nor has the sheath

Folk's, do I have a little gem for ya here in the shape of a Marble's knife !!! This is the Marble's Trailcraft, a New pattern that came out in 2000 under Mike Stewarts tenure at Marble's...I have not seen any Trailcrafts made past the year 2002, so with the Trailcraft a brand new pattern for the year 2000, its my opinion this pattern Marble's knife is very limited quantities folk's, and this one is Bone Scaled, very scarce !!!  This knife was carefully engineered to be a Brute of a knife in a compact package !!! The profile curve of the blade results in fast, efficient cutting power from the choil to the point, and with the choil area big enough to grip, so you can maximize edge control for super fine cutting chores...on the top side of this pattern, the backspine of the blade tapers from the point back to the hilt, you can exert extra pressure on it for heavy cutting chores like joints in big game critters !!! The handle is very generously proportioned to give you great power in such a small package !!! It sure is to become one of your favorite knives for all your field chores !!!

This is the Marble's Natural Bone Trailcraft

Here is a very hard Marble's knife pattern to get your mitts on folk's...its a Transition model...laser stamped with the Banner stamp Marble's went to in 2002..this was done before their regular stamp was availible in late 2001 or early 2002...bonus here : 52/100 etched right on the blade !!! 52/100 bladesteel was what Marble's used on most of their knives during the Stewart-Lauerman era of 1998-2002...and to top it off...it is the Campcraft blade pattern...not very plentifull and especially in this Gamegetter line of knives !!!

The Gamegetter line of knives came out in 1998-99....they were a radical departure from all other Marble's knives made over the last 100 years...the Cocobolo / Dymondwood handle is 100 % impervious too heat, cold, and moisture !!! The handle on this knife is styled to be 100% anatomically shaped to fit the hand perfect...it is also Ergonomically shaped to minimize hand, wrist, and forearm fatigue while in extensive use and maximize blade efficiency while in use, 2 very important factors to consider while working on your big game trophys !!! As it states in one of their flyers...Webster Marble would 100% approve this line of knives !!!

Item # 57240 - MARBLES GLADSTONE MICH CUSTOM SHOPPE LLC STAG - BUFFALO HORN IDEAL-W/STONE POUCH SHEATH-1 OF 100 !!
5_57240_1459063776_11.jpg
Larger Pictures / More Details

Folk's, when the Lauermans took over Marble's in the mid 1990's, they hired Mike Stewart to head their knife division, they also started up their Custom Shoppe LLC , bringing back old stamps like the MSA and making short run custom knives, like this Ideal right here...a great compliment  to ultilze  the old Gladstone factory...they accepted custom orders for organizations, clubs, and regular folk's that wanted a custom Marble's knife made...well this Ideal here is 1 0f 100 made, has the custom etch on the off side of the blade, and at a 100 piece run , is a super scarce knife too run up on !!!

Folk's, the Marble's Ideal was the 1st knife in the Marble's lineup...1899 was its birthday, and by 1915 this knife had taken America by storm !!! Explorers from Teddy Roosevelt to Peary & Byrd who were the explorers to reach the north & south poles carried Ideals...Charles Lindbergh spent 1lb of his precious cargo weight to carry a Marble's Ideal, Matchbox, and Compass in the cockpit of the 1st solo Trans-Atlantic flight, now on display in the Smithsonian Institution !!!

By the end of its 3rd decade of production(1930) Marble's had become the world's most famous maker of outing equipment...From pole to pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the standard by which all other hunting knives were measured !!!

This is a Marble's Stag Ideal with Buffalo Horn pommel...Custom 2003

This is a 1/2 Guard / 1/2 Hilt Ideal

Knife is 9 1/2" OAL with a 4 1/4" blade

Blade is made of high carbon, vanadium steel, brushed finish

Blade has the massive fuller in it thats makes the Ideal instantly reconized...I was told it cost Marble's $20.00 bucks a knife on the 7-8 in Ideals to machine the fuller/blood groove, thus not many Ideals were made, not near as abundent as some of the other patterns

Blade is deeply struck stamped: Marble's with their Banner stamp on the front...and Custom 2003 on the off side... made at the Gladstone Mich. factory

Handle is Genuine Stag...just great Stag bark all the way around this 1 piece Stag handle...pommel is Genuine Buffalo Horn, nice swirl in the horn on the flat part of pommel

Comes with a very scarce Marble's deep oil tanned double stamped Marble's sheath with sharpening stone pouch & stone, also never used...Marble Trademark stamp on front, Marble's stamp on back...this is a top shelf sheath folk's, in my opinion, the very best sheath that Marble's put out in their 111 yr history... and if you intend to make this your carry knife, sure is nice to have every thing you need in the wild all in one package to stay sharp !!!

 Comes in Original Marble's box

Condition: Mint...never used or carried
