It has Natural Bone Slabs for the handle... Add all these attributes up and you have one heck of a scarce, collectible Marble's knife !!!

Folk's, do I have a little gem for ya here in the shape of a Marble's knife !!! This is the Marble's Trailcraft, a New pattern that came out in 2000 under Mike Stewarts tenure at Marble's...I have not seen any Trailcrafts made past the year 2002, so with the Trailcraft a brand new pattern for the year 2000, its my opinion this pattern Marble's knife is very limited quantities folk's, and this one is Bone Scaled, very scarce !!!  This knife was carefully engineered to be a Brute of a knife in a compact package !!! The profile curve of the blade results in fast, efficient cutting power from the choil to the point, and with the choil area big enough to grip, so you can maximize edge control for super fine cutting chores...on the top side of this pattern, the backspine of the blade tapers from the point back to the hilt, you can exert extra pressure on it for heavy cutting chores like joints in big game critters !!! The handle is very generously proportioned to give you great power in such a small package !!! It sure is to become one of your favorite knives for all your field chores !!!

This is the Marble's Natural Bone Trailcraft

Knife is 8" OAL with a 3 1/2" blade

Knife is stamped: Marble's with the etched Marble's Banner stamp before they got their 2002 stamp up and running

Comes with Marble's Original stamped oil tanned leather sheath

Knife is new in the Original Bobcat box with proper sticker on the end, never carried or used, as is the sheath

This pattern Marble's knife came too pass in 1999, when Mike Stewart, Jim & Craig Lauerman, and the late great Bob LoveLess set down to make a new pattern Marble's hunting knife,,, its blade being based on the world famous R.W. LoveLess designed drop point hunter... Marble's collaborated with Bob LoveLess on their Sport 99's and their Trailmaker knives in 1999-2001... This is one of my favorite Marbles hunting knives. This is the Marbles Sport... A similar Marble's knife pattern called the Sport 1st came out about 1930, as a smaller version of the Expert. In the 1930's, this knife was the Offical knife of the Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of America. Its a great drop point hunter, and some of the oldtimer's I have talked to here in Michigan use to call this pattern a Willow Leaf...any of you out there that are "Drop Point" fans, will love this knife !!!

This is the Marble's Sport Stag on Stag drop point Hunter

Knife is 8" OAL

Blade is 3 5/8"

(Note) looks like some fine scratchs on the front of the blade on one side only...it shows in pics and I took pics so it would show up,, just try to let you all know everthing to prevent surprises when you recieve the knife

Scales are Genuine thick Stag, nice color, looks almost to be Red Stag on the off side good character and well matched from side to side,,,off side has a bump out in the Stag that makes for a great feel in the hand

Pommel is genuine Stag (Note) you can see in pics there is 1 fine seasoning check that runs across the front of the handle...you cannot hardly feel it with your fingernail...tight, and Isee no problems in the future with it, just a natural event of Stag ageing

Comes with original Marble's leather sheath, all intact

Condition: Knife is near mint, scratches on the front of blade where someone tried to remove oxidation, blade is 100% full, and does not look like it has been sharpened

This would be a 180.00 knife if in the box and it did not have the few scratches on it !!!

Here is a very hard Marble's knife pattern to get your mitts on folk's...its a Transition model...laser stamped with the Banner stamp Marble's went to in 2002..this was done before their regular stamp was availible in late 2001 or early 2002...bonus here : 52/100 etched right on the blade !!! 52/100 bladesteel was what Marble's used on most of their knives during the Stewart-Lauerman era of 1998-2002...and to top it off...it is the Campcraft blade pattern...not very plentifull and especially in this Gamegetter line of knives !!!

The Gamegetter line of knives came out in 1998-99....they were a radical departure from all other Marble's knives made over the last 100 years...the Cocobolo / Dymondwood handle is 100 % impervious too heat, cold, and moisture !!! The handle on this knife is styled to be 100% anatomically shaped to fit the hand perfect...it is also Ergonomically shaped to minimize hand, wrist, and forearm fatigue while in extensive use and maximize blade efficiency while in use, 2 very important factors to consider while working on your big game trophys !!! As it states in one of their flyers...Webster Marble would 100% approve this line of knives !!!

This is the GameGetter Cocobolo Campcraft knife by Marble's

Knife is 9" OAL

Blade is 4 1/2" in length

Blade is laser stamped Marble's with the Banner stamp...it also has 52/100 etched on it eluding to the 52/100 high carbon ball bearing bladesteel it is made of...this blade steel took several top prizes in the ABS sponsored World Cutting Championships !!!

Item # 57240 - MARBLES GLADSTONE MICH CUSTOM SHOPPE LLC STAG - BUFFALO HORN IDEAL-W/STONE POUCH SHEATH-1 OF 100 !!
5_57240_1459063776_11.jpg
Larger Pictures / More Details

Folk's, when the Lauermans took over Marble's in the mid 1990's, they hired Mike Stewart to head their knife division, they also started up their Custom Shoppe LLC , bringing back old stamps like the MSA and making short run custom knives, like this Ideal right here...a great compliment  to ultilze  the old Gladstone factory...they accepted custom orders for organizations, clubs, and regular folk's that wanted a custom Marble's knife made...well this Ideal here is 1 0f 100 made, has the custom etch on the off side of the blade, and at a 100 piece run , is a super scarce knife too run up on !!!

Folk's, the Marble's Ideal was the 1st knife in the Marble's lineup...1899 was its birthday, and by 1915 this knife had taken America by storm !!! Explorers from Teddy Roosevelt to Peary & Byrd who were the explorers to reach the north & south poles carried Ideals...Charles Lindbergh spent 1lb of his precious cargo weight to carry a Marble's Ideal, Matchbox, and Compass in the cockpit of the 1st solo Trans-Atlantic flight, now on display in the Smithsonian Institution !!!

By the end of its 3rd decade of production(1930) Marble's had become the world's most famous maker of outing equipment...From pole to pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the standard by which all other hunting knives were measured !!!

This is a Marble's Stag Ideal with Buffalo Horn pommel...Custom 2003

This is a 1/2 Guard / 1/2 Hilt Ideal

Knife is 9 1/2" OAL with a 4 1/4" blade

Blade is made of high carbon, vanadium steel, brushed finish

Blade has the massive fuller in it thats makes the Ideal instantly reconized...I was told it cost Marble's $20.00 bucks a knife on the 7-8 in Ideals to machine the fuller/blood groove, thus not many Ideals were made, not near as abundent as some of the other patterns

Blade is deeply struck stamped: Marble's with their Banner stamp on the front...and Custom 2003 on the off side... made at the Gladstone Mich. factory

Handle is Genuine Stag...just great Stag bark all the way around this 1 piece Stag handle...pommel is Genuine Buffalo Horn, nice swirl in the horn on the flat part of pommel

Comes with a very scarce Marble's deep oil tanned double stamped Marble's sheath with sharpening stone pouch & stone, also never used...Marble Trademark stamp on front, Marble's stamp on back...this is a top shelf sheath folk's, in my opinion, the very best sheath that Marble's put out in their 111 yr history... and if you intend to make this your carry knife, sure is nice to have every thing you need in the wild all in one package to stay sharp !!!

 Comes in Original Marble's box

Condition: Mint...never used or carried

Here is a Marble's knife you do not see very often folk's...the Marble's Hunter....this blade pattern dates all the way back to the American Colonial period....its a heavy duty, rugged use knife, thats for sure...its usefull in the field & for camp chores....its sweeping wide blade curve lets you make big cutting strokes....it has a big enough choil to choke up for finer cuts, yet with the heavy backspine, you can easily crack bones and joints....The fast taper to the tip gives it a very strong point on the end of the blade...being very well balanced, its undispensible for camp chores, heavy or lite...another of the great patterns to come about during the 1998-2001 period !!!

This is the Marble's Hunter

Knife is 8 3/4" OAL

Blade is 4 1/4" and .217 thousands thick !!!

Blade is 52/100 B Modified Carbon steel that took  several top prizes in the ABS sponsored World Cutting Championships !!!

This Fieldcraft pattern was one that came to pass while Mike Stewart was heading Marble's knife division...The Lauermans and him made a great team during what I call the Rebirth Peroid of Marble's after being closed for 20 yrs,,, and this blade pattern is one of the very best hunting knife patterns to come out of this peroid !!! ... It has a powerfull short, thick (.220) thousands blade that is very condusive to guttin or skinning big game critters...It is a scaled down version of the famous Marble's Woodcraft... Its high carbon blade is easy to sharpen and holds an edge very well !!!

But,,,this Fieldcraft is is different from all the other knives Marble's made over the yrs...it has the GameGetter Cocobolo Dymond Wood handle...a dynamic new shape to fit your hand perfectly and reduce fatigue in the hand, forearm, and wrist during use...it also maximizes blade use effiency durin use....It is 100% impervious to moisture, heat, and cold...it can be used in any climate with total confidence !!! Webster Marble would be proud...and I conveyed this statement to Craig Lauerman on a few occasions I spoke with him after he had Marble's on a roll and back tword the top of the Cutlery world !!!

Folk's, the Trailmaker has 3 distinctions within the Marble's Corp.

(1) It is the biggest knife Marble's ever made at 15" OAL in their storied history

(2) It is the heaviest at over 1 LB

(3) And it was the most expensive knife ever offered in their line

Webster Marble being an inventor supreme, was allways trying to come up with the perfect outdoor tool. The same way he invented a small axe...the safety axe...that could do the work of a large knife...he tried too make a large knife that would do the work of an axe...his answer was the Trailmaker !!! He was quoted as saying: there is no one cutting tool that will serve as many purposes as the Trail Maker...He came up with the name TrailMaker from a then common practice of marking trails by cutting bark off the side of trees and following the marked trees out !!!

This is the Marble's TrailMaker

Knife is 15" OAL with a 10" blade

Knife is stamped: Marble's with the Banner stamp over USA

Stag is nice and thick and heavy, and has great character all the way around the handle with deep lines of Stag Bark !!! Would ya look at that Stag !!!

What a unique piece of Marble's history I have for ya all here folk's...Marble's Signature Series 2 Centennial knife, these knives were comminsioned 1 at a time, by order from Marble's...I know for a certain fact that Marble's was charged $100.00 per knife just for the artist to hand do the scrimshaw..

This knife is one of the crown jewel's in a Marble's collectors collection if their collection leans tword the rebirth peroid after Jim & Craig Lauerman purchased Marble's in 1994, and hired Mike Stewart in 1997 as VP and head of the Cutlery Divison of Marble's from 1997 - 2002

I am gonna try and list the attributes that this knife has going for it for the serious Marble's collector :

Special Signature Series 2 Centennial knife

Hand Scrimshawed of the old Marble's Moose & Goose equipment Logo

Handle of simulated Ivory formed from blocks one at a time

WL Marble hand wrote signiture on the blade

Special Brass pommel

American Walnut Display box with Michigan Birdseye Maple Lid

Original Marble's Leather sheath

The Woodcraft pattern was patened in 1916 and became one of Marble's most successfull knives,,,after the patent ran out, it became I think the most copied pattern knife in the world, Case, Ka-Bar, German outfits, they all copied this pattern skinning knife

This whole package is in Brand New, Mint style condition, stored away for 13 yrs, never carried or displayed

Wow folk's, what a scarce Marble's knife I have for ya here !!! Its the W.L. Marble / R.W. LoveLess approved Trail Knife with "stacked leather" scales !!! Stacked Leather was the "Prefered" handle material that Webster Marble fancied on all his big blade users !!! This knife was made in 2000 after a collaboration with Bob Loveless...as you know, Bob Loveless was the designer of the most famous drop point knife I feel in cutlery history...I have seen his drop points sell for upwards of $10,000 bucks in several venues...Mike Stewart & the Lauermans had to be super proud to have Bob put his name on the Sport 99's,,,and 2 versions of the famous Marble's Trailmakers, the Game Getter & this Loveless Trail knife they made with Stag & Leather handles....Bob readily admited he was as a young man a big fan of Webster Marble and his blade patterns, and fancied and owned several Marble Trailmakers,,liking their balance & feel....

The staff at Marble's asked Bob to design a "New" version that would mirror the balance & usefullness, thus the 9 1/4" trail knife with Drop Point blade was born....This knife has a thick, heavy tip, is very streamlined and is super fast in the hand....the blade is "full height" ground with a super heavy convex edge,, and,, the knife is "Very Streamlined"...the backspine is super thick, and only tapers at the point...this gives this design superior blade strength with a unique "forward of the guard" balance...Bob decided to leave the handle "Pure Webster Marble"

Very few knives on the open market today possess the combination of "strength" and "cutting power" of this Bob Loveless design...this knife has become one of the most usefull & collectible Marble's knives that they ever produced !!!

This is the Marble's RW Loveless / WL Marble Approved Trail Knife

Knife is 14 1/2" OAL

Blade is 9 1/4" in length

Blade is.235 thousands thick of 5160B Modified Carbon Steel, 58-59 Rockwell C

Knife is stamped: Marble's Gladstone Mi U.S.A. with the full Marble's address...also in the football shaped oval it reads: R.W. LoveLess / W.L. Marble Approved...the design on this knife shows off the talents of Bob Loveless & Webster Marble all to well

Handle is the famous Marble's Stacked Leather... Marble's was the very 1st knife company in America to bring the stacked leather handle into widespread use !!!

It has a Oversized thick brass guard to prevent running your hand onto the blade edge

Pommel is Aircraft Aluminum

It comes with the "Original" top shelf double loop western style sheath, leather and keeper snap are stamped Marble's...this sheath is a dandy folk's !!!

It comes in its Original white carboard box with proper sticker on the end, Marble's used just white cardboard boxes on these big knives that had No graphics on em

Knife is "New" in box condition, just a gorgeous piece of cutlery in pristine shape !!!

Folk's, what a knife I have for ya all here...its the seldom seen 1998 7 inch Marble's Trailmaker, and its Stag !!! These are incredible knives folk's, put up against any other knife of equal size, it will hang tough right there with em !!!

The blades are laser cut from solid bars of 5160 modified carbon steel, and are subjected to a complicated multi step process for hardness and temper....this super costly process removes all brittleness in the steel and gaurantees a super "edge holding" ability and also produces superior strength within the blade !!! These proceses are critical in the edge holding ability, as well as being able to tolerate side pressure strength in very tough chopping chores !!! Like I said folk's, this knife will hold its own with just about ny other knife on the market !!!

This is the Marble's 7" Stag Trailmaker

Knife was made in 1998 per spacer arrangement

This is the Marble's Landmark series Ideal , Liberty Bell blade etch, 1 of 100 made !!! Folk's, here is a knife I have had for some time, but changing priorities in retirement dictate it must go to a new owner ...Marble's  started up their Custom Shoppe, at the old Gladstone factory...they accepted custom orders for organizations, clubs, and regular folk's that wanted a custom Marble's knife made. They re-created some of the companies most well known & famous knives, they used the ancient old M.S.A. Co. stamp on select models of Custom's that they made... this here is one of em !!!  This Ideal here is a "Prototype" , and is etched so on the front of the blade, has the Custom 2003 etch on the off side of the blade, it is a super scarce knife too run up on, and its pinned stag !!! Folk's, if you have never had the pleasure to hold one of these big Ideal's in your hand, you cannot imagine what a massive piece of cutlery they are !!!

This is a M.S.A. Co. Stag 4 Pin Ideal..."Prototype" Custom 2003

Knife is 12 1/2" OAL with a 7" blade

Blade has the massive fuller in it thats makes the Ideal instantly reconized, and is super thick at .250, a full 1/4" of high carbon blade steel !!! Hearing Mike Stewart speak of the cost of the 7" & 8" Ideals to make, it cost Marble's $20.00 per knife, just too machine the fullers in these large Ideals !!!

Blade is deeply struck stamped: M.S.A. CO. Gladstone Mich. USA...Custom 2003 on the off side

Handle is genuine Stag, the old 4 Pin construction holding the thick Stag slabs together....it has  great Stag bark all the way around it...very thick gorgeous chunks of Stag, and if ya look at the pics, its very well matched from side to side

Comes in Original Marble's box with proper markings describing the contents
