|
Folk's, I have just a super rare, Marbles Red Stag Bison carver knife to offer ya, made back in 2000 at the old Marbles factory in Gladstone, Mich. When Mike Stewart, now of Bark River knives headed the Marbles knife division from 1997-2002, they made some of the best knives in their 111 yr history !!!
This is the Marbles Red Stag Bison Carver
Knife is big, coming in at 9 3/8" OAL
Blade is 4 1/2" long, and is the old 52/100B high carbon that took a 1st, 2nd, and 5th place finish at the ABS sponsered World Championship Cutting Contest
Knife is very near mint condition. The only issues on this knife is it has a couple of very little carbon spots along the blade edge near the tip that I think would polish out with semi-chrome
Blade is stamped : Marbles, Gladstone, Mi. USA. Off side is stamped 2000
Handle is 1 piece of truly gorgeous Red Stag. It has great roughed out Stag Bark and you can see the Red in it from end to end. Beautiful fancy Brass butt cap tops off the end
Knife comes to ya in the old Bobcat box with the Original Marbles leather sheath. Never used or carried and all the paperwork & inspection slip
Please supersize the pics on the next page for a close-up look at this rare Marbles beauty !!!
Folk's, except 1 knife, ALL the Marbles knives I have in my store right now were made between 1998-2002. These knives are ALL exceptional quality and are made to use for 30 yrs , then hand down to the next generation for use. With Marbles going out of business and filing chapter 7 on 9-23-09, these knives will never be made again and I think will become very very sought after collector knives in the future !!!

Item # 21464 - MARBLES DALL DEWEESE ORIGINAL PATTERN - COCOBOLO SCALED HUNTER - 1 OF 425 SCARCE !!! |
Larger Pictures / More Details
|
I got a real special one for ya here folk's, and it is very scarce being 1 of 425 made with this blade etch in the world !!!
1500 of these were to be made in 1999 for the Fred Trost Pracital Sportsman show to support public television. They made 1000 of them with the shows logo & Fred's signiture on them. The run concluded with 425 more being made like this one
Dall DeWeese was a world reknown hunter from Canon City, Colorado that often hunted with Teddy Roosevelt. He contacted Webster Marble with what he thought would be the perfect design for a hunting knife, thus the Dall DeWeese pattern was developed
These were designed by master knife maker Mike Stewart, when he headed the Marbles knife division. He replicated the Original Dall DeWeese 1907 pattern in the handle, which has the Choil built into the wood slabs and tang. Check out the thickness of the scales, you have great control while using this knife !!!
Knife was made in 1999 & is stamped: Marbles, Gladstone, Mich. USA
OAL is 7 1/2" with a 4" blade
Blade is the old Marbles 52/100B High Carbon Ball Bearing Steel that will take on a razor edge. 52/100 steel knives took 3 1st, 1 2nd, and 1 5th finish in the ABS sponsored World Champion cutting contest
Scales are Cocobolo Wood with full exposed tang, and very thick. CoCobolo wood is the 2nd hardest wood in the world, and very durable
I have a really heavy leather rawhide laced sheath that you could cut down and retie that will fit this whole knife, handle and all. Snip it off and leave 2 holes to retie the rawhide. I will ship you one of them with this knife.
Also comes in the old Marbles Bobcat box
When Mike Stewart was at Marbles folk's, they produced some of the best made knives in their storied histoy, and this is 1 of em. He currently runs Bark River Knives here in Michigan
The older Dall DeWeese knives are some of the most sought after by collectors. A Stag one like this from yrs past could fetch upwards of 1000 bucks. And these cocobolo scales on this knife are made identical to the old pattern, in thickness and size
Folk's, its my opinion that for a general purpose camp knife, guttin knife, and boneing knife if you process your own game as I do, you "Can Not" buy a better knife without going into the big buck customs, I put this knife in quality of steel, old 4 pin scales construction ahead of any other knife manufacturer in the USA for this price range
Please Supersize pics on the next page for a close-up look
NOTE: I have several of these knives availiable !!! All knives are identical to this one, only difference is they have different serial numbers

Well folk's, here is one knife pattern that is as far as I am concerned, is the most famous and reckonized fixed blade knife of all time, The Ideal Introduced by Webster Marble in 1901, this knife literaly took America by storm. It led the Marbles Corp. to phenomenal success. This version of the Ideal came out about 7-10 yrs ago, and was pretty much discontinued after Marbles was sold to new ownership around 2003 This is the Marbles Ideal with the Cocobolo Gamegetter handle. You cannot believe how comfortable this knife is in the hand, any way you hold it Knife is 9" OAL with a 4 1/4" blade. Blade is stanped Marbles, has a very big blood groove on both sides, and is made of High Carbon steel, as you can see in the pics, brushed finish Handle is genuine Cocobolo Wood, 2nd only to ironwood in hardwood density, and ultra durable. Larger Pictures / More Details
|
Folk's, if you are lookin to purchase a high quality American hunting knife without the custom knife price, boy do I have a dandy one for ya here
This has been in storage for 6 yrs and going from the brass guard back spacer sequence of black, brass, red, white, red, brass, black, I presume this to be about a 5 - 6 yr old knife, made in 2002 - 2003. Thats a good thing, as I believe Marbles was still using the old high carbon steel, and you can tell when you hold this one it is sharp and will take on a scary edge
This is the Marbles Plainsman Pattern fixed blade hunter
This knife was made in Gladstone, Michigan, USA
It is scaled in gorgeous genuine Autumn-Red Bone and both sides are pictured on the next page The bone is a nicer color red, but the sun don't shine here in Michigan during the winter, so it is not showing up. Also at the top and bottom, the bone has a beautiful goldish color to it, thus the Autumn-Red Bone
Knife is 9" OAL with a high carbon 4 1/4" blade with the Marbles stamp
Comes to ya New in Original Marbles box, with the Original deep oil tanned Marbles leather sheath with the Marbles stamp in it. It also has the internal cut guard that protects cutting the sheath and keeps the blade from touching the leather
Please scroll down and supersize the pics on next the page
Folk's, its of my opinion that for around 100 bucks, you just cannot get a better well made American hunting knife that you can use and then hand it down to the next generation for service !!!
