Folk's, this is without a doubt, my personal favorite folding knife of all time !!! Folding Hunter 5165 pattern, Stag scales, and for what this knife represents.
When you read the blade etch: "The American Spirit" think about it. From our Independence in 1776 to the westward expansion of our country, to all the 100's of thousands of Americans that have gave their life for the USA. NO other country in the world can ever match us in one in one catorgory that rises above all: "The American Spirit"
This is the Case XX 1976 Bicentennial Pocket Knife. The brass tag on the display base says this
Knife is 5 1/4" OAL closed, with a 3 3/4" blade
Blade is stamped: CASE XX Stainless over USA on the front, 5165 on the off side. Blade has a gorgeous bright Red & Blue etch that reads: The American Spirit
This is a serial numbered piece, this one has serial # 6441 on it. 10,000 were made in 1976
Scales are Genuine Stag, nice old yellow color on em, good roughed out stag bark, with some very nice deep grooves on the back side
Bolsters are "Engraved" very deep on all sides, with the front bolster having the 1776-1976 engraved also in it. I just Love these old Case knives with Engraved Bolsters. They really make it look like a fine piece of jewlry.
Comes with Original cherry wood display base, and Original glass top. Ya don't see to many of these offered with the Original glass top. Base still has the Original Case sticker on the bottom
Knife is Near Mint condition, never used, carried, etc. only set in in case. The stamp on the shield looks to be a little light right at the bottom of the circle around Case
Please Supersize the pics on the next page folk's. This knife and what it represents to me, is worth a look just for that !!!
