Walker Wax is the best product I have found to date to protect old knives, production knives & custom knives. It is a blend of wax, fluids and hydrous magnesium silicate, the same mineral that Meerschaum pipes are made from.
This unique formulation produces a product that is a cleaning agent, polishing compound, corrosion preventative, and wax protection that is very lightly abrasive. A distinctive feature of Walker Wax is that it provides protection of your expensive knives from spittle. Have you ever noticed little tiny spots on your knives after a day or two laying on a table at a busy show? These spots are caused by spittle produced by you and your customers talking back and forth over the top of your knives. Walker Wax protects your knives from spittle spotting.
Walker Wax works great on wood, bone, metal, stone and plastic.
Apply lightly with a clean soft flannel cloth, rub if needed, smooth out, allow to dry, then buff with a passion. Looks great and protects your valuable investment.
Note: Walker Wax is not the product to remove scratches from blades, handles nor bolsters. It is not abrasive enough for that purpose. I used it quite successfully on knives that were covered with a smoky deposit from a house fire. I use it on all my custom work to protect them from fingerprinting.
