Here is some history of Eagle knife from an early GOINS edition. This company was known for the wrap around style knife which was a furtherment of the penny knife style. It should be noted that they also made other style knives but this was what they were known for. They like Napanoch and Walden were eventually acquired by Winchester. This style knife was made by many companies including Wallkill River ( NYK ) . However the company which had the most varied styles of this mech was the George Schrade Knife company. they included wire wraps, bar and fishing knives. This style was incorporated widely since the were inexpensive to make and as such were a very servicable inexpensive alternative. I have included pics of various G Schrade models as well as a Wallkill river ( between the big fishing knives one of which is a Boker who bought G Schrade and continued making this style of fishing knife. I hope this helps please advise if I may attempt to assist further. LT PS I may be wrong but I believe knifeworld once had an article on these.

Great history lesson LT.
It is nice to see some examples also.
I am often amazed to see that the old editions of Goins' has more info on some companies than the newer editions.
Makes me wonder why they eliminated some of the info & pics.............to make room I would guess.
Thanks,
Dale
