old worn out wire knife

Post by Berryb »

Hi; I found this over in Wallace saturday. I can't find much on George Schrade: He left the family business around 1915 and moved to Bridgeport to make switchblades, The End. I'm sure there must be more. Anybody have more info or photos of his other stuff?
Thanks
Bruce

Hey Bruce.
Those things show up every now and then on the forum. I'm sure some one will come by that knows the history. The Schrade name is well known in the knife business.
Still have that pile of marbles :) .

I don't know much about that company, but I know that Boker U.S.A. bought them out in the 1950s and then let it die completely when the government banned switchblades.
