When the blade is closing, it catches at about 3/4" before completely shut. The blade lock perfectly and other than this issue, it works great. A small split in the handle at the center pin as well but very hard to see. This knife would be a fine knife to use and carry every day.
Yeah, I can't see any possible problem carrying a knife that won't close in my pocket!

Real shame, too. It's a beautiful knife. If only it were mechanically sound...

How he's already got 40 bucks out of it with 3 days left is beyond me.

Sounds like a cover pin that is protruding into the well, and the blade tang is catching on it, preventing it from closing.

If that's the problem, it should be an easy fix.

Looks like an opportunity for someone to make a buy.

What does he mean by "catches" ?
I read this as meaning you can feel the blade meeting resistance rather than it cannot be closed completely. If it is the latter then the description 'should' be: "the blade cannot be closed completely and the tip sits 3/4" above the frame".
I have owned 2 or 3 of these 'recent' Weidmannsheil knives and don't see them as 'special'. They are similar to Bulldogs made at the same time.
