So I ran out of space on my other post but I definitely wanted to post this one up for discussion. It's in rough shape and I don't exactly know what my Dad saw in it, but it's definitely an interesting mystery to me.

The letters are a little difficult to read on the blade, but Lales Aquincamp appears to be what it says. I have no idea what the handles are made of, but I might be tempted into thinking it's some sort of horn.

That one's a mystery to me. I couldn't find anything on that. I don't think I've ever had a "Google" search come up with "0" hits but this one did.

I looked again with a brighter light and it might be 'A Guingamp' which would correspond to an area in far western France. I think it would be reasonable to assume it was manufactured in Guingamp by a company named Lales.

The knife does look French to me. Makes sense. Super old looking piece. I see why your father liked it.
