I got this piece in the mail today I may have paid bit much since the blade is short and pretty used. But I like it and that's all that matters. I do question the blade in this knife and that's what drew me to it. The blade is stamped with 2 different makers Bonsa and Weidmann's Heil. Now Bonsa went out of business in 1983, Weidmann's Heil didn't go out until 1994. So did Weidmann's buy Bonsa's left over stock?

The blade doesn't appear to be all that short judging from the view from above. Really nice old stag on it too;full thickness all the way to both ends;not like the newer tapered stuff.
Interesting shape on the screwdriver blade. With the stamping like that I would think that Bonsa was the maker and Weidmann the distributor. I would have probably paid too much for it as well;I love old stag multiblades.

I can't tell you who made your knife but I can tell you Weidmannsheil (one word) made classic German knives dating way back. Someone with Goin's will probably get some dates for you. Here's a Wilhelm Waltersbach catalog page from 1931.

Here's what Goin's Encyclopedia Of Cutlery Markings has to say:

WEIDMANNSHEIL SOLINGEN GERMANY c. 1882-1994 A trademark used by W. Welterbach. "Weidmannsheil" means "Good Hunting".
