Anybody like peach seed bone 804 whittlers?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Anybody like peach seed bone 804 whittlers?

Post by Colonel26 »

This just in! One I've been wanting to get my mitts on for a while! Schrade Walden 804 split back whittler in peach seed bone! She costed me two knives, but was worth it!

Blades are great with no pitting, snap is good, and everything is tight and right! No cracks chips or imperfections in the bone either.

Personally, I cannot stand the sight of one unless it is in my hand! So I can see why you grabbed that one when you had the chance! Beautiful knife.

Thanks guys.

Perry I think peach seed bone might just be my favorite too.

I just touched her up some and I think this one's going to get some pocket time.

Light duty of course.

Thanks Dog and Joe!

I do like a saber ground main blade. My western whittlers have that too.

Oh man, that is sweet!

I can see why you gave 2 knives for it. Someday I might have one like that...or make one like that, LOL.

Thanks Glenn. She cost me a Westco (Western) fixed blade, and an old Boker congress. But I wanted this one! I normally have a strict policy that no Westerns leave here period, but that peach seed bone on a big whittled sung a Siren song to me.

I can only imagine how awesome a Glennbad peach seed bone whittler would be!

Here is an 804 made for Craftsman. It is new and un-used with bright etch, which doesn't show well in my scanner. This is my best one which will stay in my collection. I have a number of other 804s in bone, Delrin, red Herman Williams stag and the famous stag commemorative with gold etch, all available.

Oh man! I have two Craftsman 9488's in Delrin. I had no idea they made one in bone!

Now I have to find me one of those!

Darn it! Lol.

3 peach seeds and a stag for good measure. 1 etched everlastingly sharp, 1 Craftsman, and the other Maher & Grosh. The stag is etched carpenters special.
