I use one of those green belt grinders to set the bevel. They work fantastic and if you keep the blade moving you won't burn the temper out.

I use 150 grit belts followed by a leather belt loaded with honing compound. Then I refine on stones. If it works for knife manufacturers why not at home?

If I got on that belt ::woot:: ---- I would have a bunch of ""Steel Toothpicks"" with handles !!!!!!! ::shrug::

Thanks Jerry but think I'll stick with my stones and the top of my leather boots. Besides, there's no electricity by the old bench in front of the feed store where the Spit 'n Whittle Club meets! ::facepalm::
