Any guesses

Post by 0078 »

Bought this knife off the bay, no ideal who made it and I don't have it in hand.

Schrade Cut. Co would be my guess...I had one identical to that.

I'm with Steve on this one. Picture isn't too clear but doesn't quite look like NYK. looks like a pretty good old knife whatever it is.

Why haven't we got an updated, clearer photo(s) of this knife for further inspection? More pics, man!

Received yesterday, here is a clear pic of the knife. Dasco Rockford il. I'm almost sure this knife was made by Schrade?

Man that looks so much better than the original picture. Certainly looks like an old Schrade Cut. Nice knife!

I can't form a confident opinion about the knife, but regardless of who made it, it sure is a keeper.
I really like that old form. ::tu::

There is a catalog cut on page 76 of the Schrade Catalog reprint edited by A.G. Russell, pattern number 7623 3/4 that is very similar to this knife 3 1/2" length. The O.P. knife looks a little fatter, however, that is quite likely to simply be an artifact of the pictures.

Dang Greg. A Rockford Dasco? I'm green with envy. Very nice knife.

Every DASCO knife that I have seen or owned was Schrade made. I had a copy of their old catalog once, it used the standard Schrade catalog cuts to illustrate the DASCO pocket knife line.

Roger, did it look like this? My one and only Dasco. I've been told the awl and can opener are pre-WWII.
