Very nice, Mr. Blister ::tu::

According to Alvin Sellens book (2004) page 169:

Model K3313. Pearl handle, 3 5/8", milled back, 2 clip blades and 1 pen blade, (crest shield 1912 thru 1929), German silver bolsters, 1905 thru 1929. $150.

With the crest shield, yours would date 1912-1929. The price he lists is for condition = Excellent, as he describes it.

The prices in those old catalogs were often for a DOZEN.
Still wasn't a cheap knife.

I'm searching in my house for the old Keen Kutter knife I used to use to clean fish back in Kansas in my boyhood. I know I have it somewhere, remember oiling the blades a few years back. About 4 inches long, one long spear blade and one shorter pen blade, same end. Jigged bone handles. Bolster on pivot end only, ridges on bolsters. Neat old knife, gotta keep looking.

tall guy, fishing the streams in Kansas doesn't get much better. Where did you grow up? I fished Spring Creek, and Fall River in Greenwood County.

Hey Blister:
1. I never "sed" your knife "INT worth 2 cents"
2. I said those prices were "often" a dozen, not always. I did mean a 1/2 dozen.
3. I never mentioned any boxes.

Harold
I agree, excellent catfish waters! I spent the first half of my life fishing all up and down the Neosho River in SE Kansas and NE Oklahoma. From John Redmond Reservoir to Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. Spoonbilling below Miami, OK was great fun too.
I also logged quite a few hours along the Verdigris River over the years.

Tallguy606 here -- I grew up fishing for channel cat and flatheads on the South Solomon river just outside county seat of Osborne. One night my uncle and I set banklines east of town just in front of a massive logjam and come morning we had about 10 huge fish, from 10 to 25 lbs weighed on the elevator scale. It was amazing to me. My uncle was a trapper and all around outdoorsman and he fileted those cats after bleeding them out. Still looking for my Keen Kutter, I know it's here somewhere. Still have a little scar on my knuckle from a slipup with that old knife.

I know this is the UN-official Keen Kutter forum but I'm watching Anthony Bourdain's New Jersey episode on CommunistNewsNetwork and see this picture during his visit to Atlantic City.

Hope this doesn't deeeeerail this thread. ::paranoid::
