Navy Rope Knife

Post by btrwtr »

Here is a English Rope knife I recently finished. 440C blade and backspring. Stabilized maple burl handles. Nickel silver bolsters. Brass liners and pins. 5 1/8" closed length. Thanks to garyflorida for providing me with the stencil for the "NAVY KNIFE" etch.

Nice work Wayne! ::tu::
It is so shiny and new it doesn't look right to me. I am used to seeing them all rusted and battered! :lol:

It is a beauty and I love the etch! ::tu:: ::tu::

Dimitri the steel is a hefty 5/32" thick. Spring is very strong. You wouldn't want to get your fingers in the way when it snaps closed.

Thanks to all for the comments.

That is a nice knife, Wayne! I have not had to deal with four inch diameter ropes since I was in the Navy, but that knife looks adequate to cutting them or anything!
