Another Old or Is It New?

I was looking thru some items on the Bay this morning and ran across the captioned knife. I'll post a link to the listing but I couldn't get a copy of the photo for some reason. Maybe some of you can copy and post the photo for posterity.
I can't for the life of me figure out why or how the seller could or would describe this as a ladies leg knife but what impressed me is that this has none of the qualities that would normally lead me to believe that this is not an old knife.
There is an old looking stamp, no match striker pull, no yellow box. Missing etch might be the only thing but the knife just doesn't look 'old' to me. If it is old, I would be really surprised.
What do you think?

I agree I don't think it is very old,but it looks like a well made souvenir knife. If it sells cheap and man wanted it he couldn't go wrong. It's cute.

Thanks jerryd6818 I've guested on the site off and on for a little while, finely joined up. The knowledge you guys have blows me away. I really enjoy the banter and the respect you show each other. There a lot of fun had but it doesn't seem to be any sniping or knife snobbery on the site, I really like that.

The missing etch bothers me. Also the tang on the pen blade doesn't look right. I have a couple of older eyes in this pattern, and they have the square-foot tang. But that is what's great about knife collecting, you always see something new. If you can throw Ray a curve on an Eye Brand knife, that's saying something.

Ray,
I live near the Alabama/Tennessee border and I see these knives from time to time. I am confident in saying this is a mid seventies version. The state emblems basically only occurred in that era.
The state emblem Eyes are generally Canoe, and I have only seen mini-trapper/muskrat types, and this version, which I call a pen or tuxedo. These are much more hard to find than the Canoe.
They are very collectible and are typically three eye. A three eye Tennessee Canoe long pull recently sold on eBay for over eighty bucks, but are usually around fifty dollars. I probably ran the price up on that one though, because I wanted it as a brother to another one I had just like it. There is a normal pull Tennessee three eye on eBay now.
And finally, if anyone has a German Eye with an Alabama emblem in good shape, I would pay a premium for it. Please contact me.
Thanks,
Mark
