Date of a Boker Classic Slimline
Date of a Boker Classic Slimline
I picked this Boker stag slimline up a few weeks ago for an every day carry knife. I know its not very old but was wondering when did Boker make these classic's. Nice knife and carries well. Tang stamp says Boker, Solingen Germany, Stainless. Thanks and have a great day

Re: Date of a Boker Classic Slimline
Boker has been making the slimline hunter pattern (93) since the early 1960s. However, just going by evidence in old catalogs they only made that pattern with stag handles (4093) from the mid to late 1980s up until the mid 1990s.
I have a 1988 catalog with the 4093 pattern pictured, but by 1994 it is gone.
They made this pattern primarily in Rosewood and delrin. In the mid 1990s they introduced a brown jigged bone model as well.

Re: Date of a Boker Classic Slimline
Just for giggles, the TREE BRAND CLASSIC trademark was copyrighted/patented in 1975.

So if you see that blade etch on a Boker knife, you will know it is was made after 1975.
The 440 C trademark with the small tree in the zero was from 1982. So if you see that etched on a Boker knife blade, it was made after 1982.

BKWhite that's some mighty nice stag on your knife. I'll give her two thumbs up.
