Pictures from Tulsa Arms Show

Post by btrwtr »

Thought I would share some pictures from the November 2014 Tulsa Arms Show. The first one is what the upper level looks like before the dealers start to set up. The lower level is nearly as big. A huge show to say the least. If you like guns and knives you should put this show on your list to try and attend. 4000+ tables.

The next show is April 11 &12, 2014.

The others pictures are my displays. That's my buddy Randy that helps me at the show behind the tables.

4000 + tables of knives in one place, WOW, I can only dream of every seeing something like that in person. I do love seeing photos of it though. Thanks very much for posting those, Wayne.

Great display and great knives. Were there any celebrities there this year? Sales up? Down?

I tend to go into sensory overload within a couple of hours at a show 1/10th the size of that one. If I went to Tulsa, I would have to have the meat wagon on standby and a bed reserved in the looney bin at the local hospital.

The biggest show I have seen was the Oregon show about 10 years ago.
I think the table count was 520, but it was ALL knives, no guns.
I think that was my first or second show and I was in sensory overload!

I couldn't see 520 tables in 2 days, and this was before I was selling at the show, so all my time was devoted to looking & buying. I can't imagine trying to see 4000+ tables in 2 days. ::dang::

That would make me looney like Jerry. ::tease::
Err.... like it would make Jerry.

All we need is one more and we could play some Pinochle while we're at the looney bin.

I don't think I would last long, I had no idea knife shows were such a mayor event.
I am getting in shape now on my treadmill for the Atlanta show.

I got to meet James Drury (The Virginian), Dan Callier, Dan Haggerty and Buck Taylor. The actor that played "Israel" on the Daniel Boone show was there, but I can't remember his name. They were all signing autographs. Pretty Cool!!

Thanks Wayne, Fooled me, there is no mention of knives. How much of the Expo Square is actually the knife display portion? If I pass on the guns could I see the knives in 1 day?

I couldn't say how much of the show is knives but I know there are many knife specific dealers that set up. Enough to make a good size knife show just with these dealers and then add in all the gun dealers that also carry some amount knives so that makes a pile of knives.

There is no knife designated area but in the lower section where I have been setting up I can see about 6 knife only dealers very close by me that total about seventeen 8' tables of just knives. This area represents a tiny % of the total show.
