And a fine knife they are. I have two of them. A short line and a long line. Built strong. Handles on both of mine are shakey.

I've been after a 23 for a while too, but like you, I find them going for more than I want to pay. Reckon what the magic is with them? Reckon why most are marked with ORR FELT? K-nice K-nives though. $13 was a steal ::tu:: ::tu::

Frj,TJ,Glen, the last one I saw at the Flea Market was 25.00 and it wasn't too good.
But it's the weirdest thing...mostly every one I have ever seen was marked Orr Felt!..I don't
have any idea why that is ::shrug::
I seem to remember ones being marked Knox Felt or something like that.
Nice big Knives they are though. ::nod::

Here are my 23s. When I saw the Orr Felt Knife I knew exactly what it was. I've seen many on e-bay. I bought mine on e-bay too but managed to avoid the advertisement. My short line has the loose scales but it's the better of the two in terms of action and blade design. I'd like to get both handles replaced with maybe smooth bone. They are a nice big strong jack.

Very nice knives, I like 'em a lot ::tu:: ::tu::

I've got a cousin to the 23, a BOKER U.S.A., but I'm still after the 23 and will eventually get one at my price ::tu::

tj, that's a nice Boker.
I hope you find a 23. I can't imagine why they would be expensive, but like anything else, once it catches fire, it's off and running.
They are a Camillus; they are a desirable large jack, but they are just a well made work-a-day knife with cheap plastic handles.
Hold out for a short line.

I will find me a 23, just got to be patient. Seems they've always been priced on the high end, like in the $60 range. That Boker was the first knife I posted on when I joined AAPK in 2009. Orvet commented that it was very similiar to the 23 and I've been on the search for a nice one since then.

I don't know, Catt, ::shrug:: it's glued in just like the others, no pins.

.......catt, the short line stamp was used 1946-1950(goin's)- I have what may be the forerunner of the #23-4 1/4" closed, same blade configuration-4 line stamped master, curved 3 line stamped secondary-walnut or cocabola handles, big pinned bowtie shield, half stops on both blades, no pattern no., weighs almost as much as my camillus sunfish, blades are still so tight i can hardly open either one!!!.................... ::tu:: ................................
